Twenty-fourth annual Fun Run
Bright and early Tuesday morning the New York Young Insurance Professionals challenged the NJYIPs at the 24thannual Fun Run on the boardwalk. The event exceeded expectations and raised $142,249 for the cause. Funds raised by this, and other events by PIA, has allowed thousands of Special Olympics athletes to train and take part in various Special Olympic events. Some 144 runners took part in the 5-kilometer race. Chris Mignone, a member of the Franklin Mutual Insurance Co. team, finished first for the men with a time of 18:50; Nancy Connolly, of Heritage Insurance Agency finished first for the woman with a time of 22:05.
