Recognizing the industry's stars PIANY honored the industry's most dedicated professionals at Monday's gala reception, including those honored throughout the past year at Regional Awareness Programs throughout New York state.
PIANY past President N. Stephen Ruchman, of Ruchman Associates Inc. in Rockville Centre, was named PIANY's Professional Agent of the Year. “Throughout his career, Steve has demonstrated a deep level of dedication to our industry. He has earned the respect and trust of his colleagues and clients,” said Koles. “PIANY is very pleased to recognize Steve with this award.” A PIANY member since 1978, Ruchman served as president in 2004-2005. He served as first vice president in 2002-2003 and vice president in 2000-2002. In 2001, Ruchman received the PIANY Louis A. Morelli Memorial Award and in 2000, he received the PIANY Committee Chair of the Year. “I am honored to be recognized by PIANY for my work in the industry and for doing something I have enjoyed throughout my life,” said Ruchman. “It is truly an honor to receive such a distinguished title as Professional Agent of the Year.”
Long-time friend and fellow PIANY past President Jeffrey H. Greenfield bestowed Ruchman with two additional honors from his hometown of Rockville Centre, N.Y. The first, a proclamation from state Sen. Dean G. Skelos, R-9th, deputy majority leader of the New York state Senate; and the second, a proclamation from Rockville Centre Mayor Mary Bossart, which declared Monday, June 9, "N. Stephen Ruchman Day" in the Village of Rockville Centre, N.Y. The New York Young Insurance Professionals recognized Carl Abramson as the 2008 NY-YIP Insurance Professional of the Year; and Bobbie White NY-YIP Volunteer of the Year.
