Peter Resnick of Interboro Insurance Co., accepts
the PIANY Company Executive of the Year award. |
The luncheon also featured
a presentation to Peter Resnick of Interboro Insurance Co., who received
PIANY’s Company Executive of the Year award. Both MetroRAP chair
Michael P. Cracco, who presented the award, and Resnick noted the importance
of loyalty in our industry and held the success of Interboro in its
emergence from rehabilitation as an illustration of its importance in
the New York broker community.
“It’s quite amazing that a broker community can come together
and stick by the side of an individual that steers a company out of
rehabilitiation like they did for our honoree,” said Cracco in
reviewing Resnick’s myriad successes. “He asked everyone
to stick by his side, while he rolled up his sleeves and took his company
out of rehabilitation. We all know that if it was anyone else steering
the ship through that storm we would have taken our books of business
to another carrier and the rest would be history.”
Two scholarships also
were presented during the ceremony. PIANY-member employees Richard Barquero
of Bellido Insurance Brokerage in Glendale, N.Y., and Melissa Skidmore
of Ruchman Associates Inc. in Rockville Centre, N.Y. were presented
with the prestigeous Bernard I. Kozel Memorial Scholarship
and the Arthur I. Moll Memorial Scholarship, respectively.
The scholarships provide full-tuition coverage for all five certified
insurance service representative seminars conducted by the association.
