CE in session

Daniel F. Maher, Esq. executive director of ELANY, and Eugene Nunziata, education/communications director for ELANY, present the morning education session, Cutting expenses in the E&S market in the 21st century.

Sheldon Hansen, CIC, CRM, educated agents about the National Flood Insurance Program during the session Flood Insurance.

While the LI RAP trade show offered agents a chance to educate themselves on new products and services, two CE classes provided the opportunity for professionals to take a direct approach in learning and professional development.

First, Daniel F. Maher, Esq. executive director of the Excess Lines Association of New York, and Eugene Nunziata, education / communications director for ELANY, taught Cutting expenses in the E&S market in the 21 st century . The morning session provided attendees with the opportunity to learn how various regulatory reform proposals to modernize and streamline access to the excess and surplus market will affect their businesses. The afternoon session, Flood insurance, was taught by Sheldon Hansen, CIC, CRM , member of Brouwer Hansen and Izdebski Associates, Toms River, N.J. The class gave agents the opportunity not only to earn CE but to meet Federal Emergency Management Agency's requirements for Section 207 of the Flood Insurance Reform Act. Both classes were approved for New York state CE credits.

When asked about the outcome of this year's event, Resnick considered it a success. “Insurance professionals in this region face much different scenarios and challenges in the industry than their colleagues throughout New York state. Long Island RAP once again gave independent agents the opportunity to explore issues that affect their businesses and the lives of their clients, while also providing tools to enhance their knowledge of the industry and to provide better service to their customers.”
