Password Protected Materials on the PIA Web Site - Frequently Asked
Questions
Some
materials on the PIA Web site are for PIA members only. Access to these
materials requires registration. If you are a PIA member and have not
registered for member only materials, click
here. Frequently asked questions about the
registration process are summarized below.
1. What is my username?
A username is a name accepted to access a computer system. To enter
members-only portions of the PIA Web site, you will have to create both
a username and a password via the red sign-up icon on this site. Your
username must be one word only and more than three characters. You can
use letters or numbers, or a combination of both, in your username.
If letters are used, only lowercase is acceptable.
2. What is my password?
A password authorizes your access to information on a computer
system. As with the username, you can use letters or numbers, or a combination
of both. If letters are used, only lowercase is acceptable. Your password
must be one word only and more than three characters.
3. What if my username or password
doesn’t work when entered?
Check to ensure caps lock is NOT on. Again, also use lowercase
letters only for both your username and password.
4. Is it okay to use the numbers
on the right-hand keypad of my keyboard for my username and password?
Yes, it is acceptable to use them for both. But, remember to
always have the “num lock” key on when doing so.
5. What if I forgot my username
or password?
