Commercial Property: Beyond the Basics
This course will address some of the coverage issues in commercial property and time element coverage. We will focus on the ISO property and business income forms, examining several coverages and topics in detail. We will discuss the use of endorsements to close coverage gaps and fine tune coverage. In some cases, we will move beyond the ISO property forms to discuss coverage in the BOP and other policies.
(Back) Advanced Homeowners 2000: Coverages in Practical Situations
This in-depth program will explore coverage differences and difficult coverage problems found in the HO2000. We will discuss claims cases, including vehicles as perils, theft from dorms, overflow of water and assessment claims. Underwriting cases discussed include workers' comp. in the home, 14-34 year olds who live at home and work, 18-34 year olds who live at school, “new collapse” definition, trusts, estate, and related bonding needs, personal lines hold harmless, foster children and replacement cost issues.

This course takes a detailed look at Commercial Property coverage through the analysis of various claims scenarios. With a focus on the Building and Personal Property Coverage Form, we will examine various claims and will discuss how the policy would respond. Some scenarios will include a discussion of related Business Income topics, and, in some cases, how to use available endorsements to close coverage gaps.

Advanced HO 2000: Endorsements That You Should Be Using More Often
This advanced course will explore various lesser-known HO2000 endorsements that aren't uses as often as they should be. Endorsments discussed will include: Home business, additional residences, earthquake, additional insureds vs. additional interests, coverage for relatives in nursing homes, HO 15 “replaced” with HO 05, earth movement exclusions and buy-backs, new ordinance/law handling, ACV and Functional loss settlement options, motorized golf cart coverage, residences held in trust and more.
The instructor will explain these in-depth and detail why each should be considered more often.

Flood Insurance *Meets FEMA requirements

Risk Transfer Tools: Contracts and Add’l Insured Endorsements
This course examines the primary tools used by organizations to transfer liability to others, the contract and the additional insured endorsement. We begin with an overview of the different types of contracts used and discuss how the CGL policy responds to liability assumed under contract. We will look at the use of additional insured endorsements and study, in detail, the most commonly used ones. We will discuss how to integrate the two approaches to risk transfer and look at the benefits and drawbacks of each. Lastly, we will study the insurance certificate, focusing on some of the problems one encounters when relying on a certificate of insurance.

Ethics and the Insurance Producer
This course begins with an overview of ethical principles and a discussion of the various approaches to ethical decision-making. Students will discuss the major styles for recognizing and resolving ethical dilemmas, and determine which style most closely represents their own decision-making processes. These approaches and styles will be discussed within the context of an ethical dilemma which will be presented at the beginning of the course. The course will address the importance of corporate ethics programs and some of the important considerations in developing these programs. Lastly, the subject matter will be applied specifically to the insurance producer. The course addresses the ethical responsibilities of the insurance producer to insurance carriers, prospects and clients, third parties and the general public.

Commercial Lines Case Studies (emphasis on casualty)
This casualty-focused commercial lines course will discuss in-depth commercial property “sticking points,” CGL coverage difficulties, boiler and machinery issues, commercial auto coverage issues, umbrella and excess coverages and workers' comp. Case studies will be used to explore each topic.
